Sometimes the best things in life are closest to you. Such is the case and never more obvious than during the month of May! That’s right… I could travel the world over and never spend any better time than the time I spend right in my own home town with my MOM on Mothers Day 2015. Mom’s are special and I certainly hope that you were able to spend a MORE THAN MOMENT in time with your mom on this Mother’s Day.
Mothers are like snow flakes… no two are alike. And all I can do is speak about my snowflake. She has been the one constant in my life. Always there, and always instilling confidence, encouragement, and hope in a life that she brought into this world and nurtured each and every day. The lessons that my mother instilled in me have molded my personality, make me who I am, and give me hope for a better day with the rise of each sun.
It is this same hope that I always want for Members of Walking Horse Club Ky. We are not promised tomorrow, but we have hope that yesterday was great, today is awesome, and tomorrow will be even better!
As long as we have air in our lungs and blood in our veins we can hope for a better day and usually we do this by making each day a day when we lift someone else up and make an attempt to make their day better with little regard to our own. Mothers seem to have an easier time with that ideology and we can all learn from their shining example. A mother will do without, and give all to a child, only to find that while enriching the life of her child…. She also was blessed.
Well Mothers Day is over but we are all left with “HOPE” and that leads me to say….. “If a man could be two places at one time …. I would be with you!” I know that is a song but that is exactly how I feel. I find myself wanting to be in two places at one time …. and sometimes three! May is certainly one of my favorite months. It includes Mothers Day and some of my favorite horse shows.
Having a twin brother enables Walking Horse Club Ky to head over the National Spotted Horse Association 36th Annual Spring Show on Friday night at Middle Tennessee State University and then on to Petersburg, Tn. on Saturday while brother Charlie heads over to the Juv. Aux. Show in Lancaster, Ky. That is not actually being in two places at one time but as close as it can get for me. May 21-23 will bring us to the Fun Show followed by the Columbia Spring Jubilee on May 28th-30th.
So, let em walk on as we Journey through the merry month of May with Hope for a better tomorrow that begins with helping others today.
