I remember a song from the 60’s that rings in my ears from time to time. “What’s it all About Alphie?” Well I am not sure if Alphie ever figured it out but there is one thing that I completely understand. It (Life) is all about relationships.
What’s it all about, Alfie?
Is it just for the moment we live?
What’s it all about when you sort it out, Alfie?
Are we meant to take more than we give
or are we meant to be kind?
The two week span between Asheville and White Pine horse shows was an amazing time in my life. First of all Walking Horse Club Ky had its largest day ever. The number of views was even larger than the day I posted the “Honors” video from the Money Tree Classic! During the Asheville Horse show we had One Thousand Six Hundred and Ninety Eight Views in a single day.
Secondly I was able to meet positive minded horse enthusiast that were unselfishly sharing their most valuable asset. Time, the most valuable asset any of us have,is the building block for any relationship. The video below portrays the type of giving that I am speaking about.
This video exemplifies “What it is all about!”
In both Asheville and White Pine, World Champion horses were ridden by amateur riders prior to their Saturday night exhibition. But on this day… Chad Baucom shared rides on the current world grand champion with no hopes of any type of gain. Pure and simple, horse lovers were out in the middle of the ring enjoying the horse and taking great pleasure in the joy that others were getting from this great horse and great breed.
As you view this video I am sure it will bring back some memories for you also. Maybe it was your first ride on a Tennessee Walking Horse, but on this day it was not just any Tennessee Walking Horse, they rode the 2012 World Grand Champion Walk Time Charlie and will never forget their ride or the generosity of Chad Baucom and the owners of this ambassador to our breed.
Check out the video and you will see “What it’s all about!”
